This is a Part 2 to my previous post about our 1950's Christmas Party. Food was also made according to the 1950's theme. Mini burgers, hotdogs, delicious milkshots and much more were made by Luscious Cusine. you can also see a photo of blinis with salmon which recipe I posted a few days ago.

Real Party - 1950's Christmas Party (part1)

This weekend me and my husband hosted a 1950's Christmas party for our friends. Today I wanted to share with you some photos that my hubby managed to take before he got too carried away with his friends:) Luckily the weather was nice and warm so we had most of the party outside.

Party Food - Mini Blinis with Smoked Salmon and Sour Cream

This weekend we went to our friends engagment party and I tried these delicious mini blinis. Although it is one of the traditional dishes in Lithuania I've never realized that ir can be served as a finger food at a party. Instead of normal size blini make a small size and it's good to go:)
I will definately try this at one of our parties.

Ingridients:
250 ml flour
125 ml milk
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
1 tbs baking powder
1 egg and 1 egg yolk
3 - 4 egg whites, whipped till stiff
Toppings: sour cream, smoked salmon, dill and red or black caviar
Sift all dry ingredients together and mix in the egg and egg yolk, then fold in the stiff egg whites. Drop teaspoons of the mixture onto a lightly greased frying pan and cook like crumpets over a medium heat. Top each blini with a dollop of sour cream, a swirl of smoked salmon and a spring of dill, finishing with alternating red and black caviar.
(Recipe taken from Marie Claire magazine, 1999).
